“Please welcome pop’s newest sensation, Katy Perry! Katy has recently taken the US by storm with her latest single “Disco Fling,” which she will perform right now.”



Lights begin flickering, mimicking broken neon lights. Drums roll in, quietly at first, exuding an almost eerie vibe. The bass follows, and the room gradually brightens. As the beat drops, there is an explosion of lights. Katy appears from a cloud of smoke and a disco ball slowly lowers above her. She encourages the audience to clap along. “Are you ready?” She shouts. She winks right into the camera before starting to sing. Behind her, visuals appear of embarrassing club photos, candids from the Disco Fling video. The crowd laughs. As the pre-chorus starts, the lights turn to a dim blue. Katy is accompanied by only a piano. Eight dancers approach her from each side.

As the chorus bursts in, there is a profusion of lights. Katy takes the spotlight. The dancers around her bust out classic 80’s dances. She joins them in the second half of the chorus. She does choreography similar to the one featured in the “Disco Fling” video. In the following chorus, Katy struts to the judges panel. She ushers them all to get up, but Simon Cowell refuses. In the end, she manages to drag him on stage. He attempted some choreo, mimicking Katy and got a huge cheer from the crowds. He shuffled back to his seat as the chorus kicked in.

Katy joins her dancers for the chorus. As it ends, the slong slows down. The lights are killed and all you could hear is “I can’t read you, I don’t need you.” The crowd gasped. Katy’s dancer handed her a bouquet of flowers, but she threw them away as she sang the chorus of “Can’t Read You.” Eventually, Can’t Read You transitioned back to Disco Fling. Katy encouraged the crowd to join in. “X Factor, louder!” The crowd erupted with cheers when the song was over.
